If the top mounting bolt is tight it won't move all that much...

you should only have to loosen the top bolt... loosen the tension bolt and it should slide a little bit... enough to let you get the belt off...

It might just be old and crusty and not moving freely... put a little muscle into it...

Maybe try pushing the alternator towards the engine...

Sounds like it's rusted or just stuck...

Did the alternator move at all when you adjusted the tension bolt?

You might just have to take the mounting bolt out and pull it off and clean it up so it's easier next time...

Maybe try spraying A LITTLE PB Bleaster or WD40 on the bolt...

well the 2 bottom bolts (adjusters) are only held in by like 1 thread and the top pivot bolt is almost all the way out, does that pivot bolt have to be taken out completely? no when i lossend the 2 adjusters the alt didnt move at all. and i tried using a rubber mallot to smack the alt towards the engine and it would give. i just dont wanna break anything.

the alt slid down already right??

                          tensioner first then pivots...

maybe i remember incorrectly, maybe there is only one pivot.

but this should take u no more than half hr. i swapped mine at the shop where i get my parts from,

                          think u need a 10, 12, and 14 mm. with a 4 inch extension

ah fuk, i'll look right now

                          brb in 5 min

                              ok, there are 2 pivots

one is with the tensioner on the bottom (if u dont loosen this, the tensioner aint moving and ur going to bend the bracket---i've done this b4 lol---i was a fukkin noob)

and the other is the main one holding it to the bracket
