I finally got an intermediate shaft for my H22, but I'm just curious if anyone's ever swapped one in for with an Automatic trans. So would it still be the same as a 5spd axle for the D/S? So in my case, I've got ABS, would I need a 5spd ABS D/S axle? or do you think I'd need a custom one made? I'm really sick of having that long (almost 4ft) axle on the driverside, I already snapped it once like a month after getting my H22 swapped in so that was on the list of things to get taken care of.

what i really meant was that you cant use a regular 5spd one (plus axle) like the OP was asking about. i assumed this is what he had because he just "got one" from somewhere. it wont work, unless you make a custom one, or custom mount it, or whatever, but then no regular axle will fit. either way either the intermediate shaft OR the axle will end up having to be custom...

i was just goofing around with this in the driveway. i'm in the midst of a 96 accord sir swap into my CB9. i took the std. axle and shaft and mocked it up. the holes line up but a 1/2 or more gap to the block. it is possible to make a plate and use longer dowel bolts. but if everything ain''t perfect you will side load the diff and hurt the trans. i left it alone and installed the auto axle, another day when or if it breaks i'll mess around with it.96 Accord SiR driveline installed.
