when i try starting my car it just cranks but when i try it again it starts right up and doesnt do it for the whole day its only like in the morning when it does this i was thinking i need a new fuel pump because when it starts i smell gas???

Sounds like a main relay. It cost nothing to check it if you have 10 minutes and tools.

It COULD also be a failing fuel pump or starting air valve. Diagnose properly.
