    what causes rough shaking idle?

Each time I start my car, I have this hard shaking and very rough idling. can someone tell me why this would happen... I did change my fuel pump and I did check my throttle body, I also change my spark plugs and wire along with my distrubutor. I was thinking it my coil but I notice the coil is working fine because I made the mistakes in pulling the coil wire out while the car was running and it shock the shit out of me, so whats wrong with my car when I start it up? Oh! one last thing I change my spark plug tube seals top and lowers, so what else could be going on?

Putting my 2 cents in alright, anybody have change for a half penny? Ok that didn't make cent.. WTF?

Have you checked your mounts? Do you have enough oil? Check the obvious stuff first. Btw, even a bad coil could shock the shit out of you, put a meter on it. That's first hand knowledge.

You have done a significant amount of work and if done incorrectly, could contribute to many issues. I hope you did the upper and lower rocker arms seals job well, that involves removing the rocker arm assembly. Let's assume you did that correctly, I would think the rough shaking idle is attributed to mixing up plug wires. Check that first and diagnose from there.

This has been covered many times, search for that info if you don't have a manual or reference a working cb7.

It would help if you described your situation in chronological order. That way you can tell if a problem is related to a previous repair.

              ok

I started notice of this rough idle about two months ago when I change my spark plugs and wires... The rough idles started on cold starts. Once the car is started it gets better after about 1 min or so. I think it the seals at the bottom of the spark plug tubes. Any suggestion as to how I could fix this...

                another thing...

The car is running fine but I am missing a fan because one of my fans broke. When the a/c is running, the car at idle would suddenly starts the get hot, I know this is because I am missing that fan, but can I cause damage to the car without the fan? I haven't had the fan going on 6 months now. I only have the one fan next to the battery. As far as the rough starts, I tried to fix the problem but I'm alittle scared to fuck with the rocker arm, cam and timing belt, because lack of money and inexperiance. I don't want to break this car being the only transpo I have. Can someone show me a video of how to take it apart so I can fix the rough starts and spark plug issues. PLEASE

Have you tightened up your fast idle thermo valve?

That can cause your cold idle to be rough and then be fine when warmed up.

I have the valve location below. After you take the top cover off, there should be a ring inside with 2 slits. Put a flat blade screw driver in each slit and turn it clockwise until it is tight. See if this helps your cold idle problems.

                    thanks fellas..

That did it right, I can now start it and have no problems with it, but the damn spark plug rings is still my issue and I'm just going to have to do it like nike.
