    Cruise Control not responding.

I use my cruise control often, except for this past weekend, when i pushed the "Cruise" button to turn on CC, the green light the the button came on. I drove at a consistent 70mph, then i went push the "SET" button, and nothing. No light came on the dash, no pressure released from the gas pedal... No cruise control.

There are many threads on how to remove CC, and problems when individuals push the button, and see a light come on the dash, but no pressure release on the pedal.

I've checked my vaccum lines and all look fine and tight. I've also checked electrical plugs on the CC unit, all is clean and no wires are messed up or anything.

Could my problem be the actual button on the steering wheel?

mostlikely its the switch on your steering wheel thats gotten loose. ive fixed this problem on 2 cb7's. easiest thing to do is to go to the jjunkyard and pull one. u have a 9293 so just pop off that cover with a butter knife ( ive tried to purposly break one and couldnt ) soo u should have no problem getting it off. 2 philips screws and thats it.
    OR
u could try a test drive. make sure ur cruise button is on of course. then hold the wheel with ur knee and push the cc controls on the steering wheel toward the driver door forcefully while engaging cc with your left hand. if it works for a sec then its that switch. if not then we move on to the actual cc on/off switch. swap that out.
if that still doesnt work. time to go upside down and swap out your CC control unit silver grey box 3 10mm bolts i believe under the driver dash closer to the fuse box. make sure when ur swapping that u are swapping a manual for a manual and an auto for an auto for this component.

if this still doesnt solve it then u gotta check under the hood or ull be needing a test light. mostlikely its 1 of the 3 above. GL !

I'm having this same problem, except accompanied by a malfunctioning horn. It took me about an hour of disassembling the steering column before thinking to check the fuse.

I can now say that I've had a problem that has been fixed by a new fuse.

Good luck with your CC. And, as our car is so common in junkyards, I'm sure you'll find a function CC switch in the junkyard if it comes to it.
