    A/C Pressure Gauge

I bought the Freeze12 kit on eBay with that comes with this A/C guage

I can't get the gauge to engage and tell me the pressure, since it doesn't actually screw on to the low side pressure valve.

    Anyone have any suggestions?

Those are the worst gauges ever, the shit sprays out when you put it on.

Totally agree. I'd buy something else, but, am not sure what to buy.

they sell those long freon bottles with a hose & built in guage. get that. you can use the gauge without the bottle. also the low side pressure is like 25-35psi

Right - that's the problem, that for an R12 fitting, I can't find a real gauge.

My refrigerant was low enough that the compressor wasn't kicking on. I've now added 1 12 ounce bottle and 2 2 ounce bottles, and the A/C is working. I'd like to add one more 12 ounce bottle, but I don't want to overcharge the system. Anyone know the capacity of the system?

              ????

like I said get those cans that come with a hose with a built in gauge. you can use that hose & gauge many times after that. even with out the can plugged on.

btw if I remember correctly the system is 2 regular cans of freon & 1 mini can of oil.

              the pressures are

              L=25-35 PSI
              H-225 PSI

Got a link for the cans with the gauge? I need some sort of R12 replacements, not R134a.

I think if I remember it holds 30oz. You could buy the retro fit fittings and put them on and then use the gauge from the can. But not sure how you would fill again with R12. My gauges came with both 134 and 12 attachments but they were $100. Not cheap for something you use once or twice a yearhttps://www.ackits.com/pc/66773/Refr...pecial+(66773) gauges

I need r12 fittings, not R134a. Those kits are for R134a only.

those kits come with conversion fittings. you take the core out of the old r-12 fittings with a tire valve core remover and screw on the 134 adaptor fitting and you're good to go. you'll have a hell of a time finding an r12 hose.

i have one that i've had forever. i'm not even sure if it will attach to the new 134 cans though.

If I put the r134a adapters on the low side pressure valve, then I can't charge the system with the r12 replacement.
