how do i tell if my gas cap is bad, i ust to notice a hiss when i open my gas cap after being on e, but now i dont and im gettin terrible gas mileage

could be gas cap, could be charcoal canister system being open. More than likely gas cap.
Typically when you get an inspection they leak check it though.
Not sure about the lower mileage though.__
