is this guy lying to me?

hey, i have a 93 SE automatic. I got a f22a engine swapped into it (the original blew up) with a manuel.

however, the mechanic stopped working on my car because he said he could not find a "SE manuel harness."

He also said he tried a 93 ex maneul harness, but it didnt work because the SE has a 5 wires (or prongs, 5 parts something...)
    and the EX has four.

has anyone heard of this problem, or is this guy yanking my chain? please clarify, as I need a working car fast. thanks!

So your original is an automatic 93 SE motor OR the specific engine code is F22a6.

Now you said you had a F22ax swapped into this car with a manual trans, but you did not specify which engine code exactly. So it could be a F22a1 or F22a4 for that matter with a manual trans.

    FYI:

    90-93 DX & LX have F22a1 motors
    90-91 EX have F22a4 motors
    92-93 EX have F22a6 motors
    91 and 93 SE have F22a6 motors

    My thoughts:

    - It may be a auto-to-manual trans issue, as to why they are different.

    - You have two different Accord engine codes and the wiring harnesses differ.

    - Your mechanic may not be lying, but may not know of these differences between the years, mixed parts up and/or is piecing parts from different year Accords.

    Few questions:

    1) Are you doing a manual trans conversion as well, or just swapping in the motor to the original auto trans?

    2) Can you find out the specific engine code of the swapped motor or at least what year and trim Accord (ie. DX, LX, EX or SE) this engine came from.

uh, I think you can use any 4th gen Accord harness on any other cb7. The shock tower plugs differ slightly but you only have to add or remove 1or 2 wires accordingly. I have a 91 Lx 5-speed and the harness Im using is a 92 ex automatic(Dont ask why)

          ok

Well, the new engine is a f22a6, i believe (out of a 92 EX) and the auto tranny has been replaced with a manuel tranny.

So, how can I sodlify this problem? I also dont think hes lying to me, but hes not use to problems such as these, and hasnt done the research to complete the project.

Now, what kind of wire harness can I use, or how would I modify a 93 EX manuel harness to acodomate it for my car?

Any help would be much appreciated.

          thanks
