    Speedo/Tach jumpy, voltage drop?

Ok so this happened today while driving. Earlier in the day I saw (when applying brakes) my needles jumped a little. After a while, the voltage started to drop. The voltage has been just under 14v, all of a sudden it went down to 11.7 then down to 9, then 8. Of course it begins to pour down rain - wipers barely work, windows barely open/close, headlights bring it down below 8v. I made it home, nothing caught on fire.

So could this still be the ignitor, or could it be something else? Everything has been fine, I just had my alternator tested and it's fine. It's not the VSS, battery is good, wiring is solid, grounds are clean and tight, belt is tight.

EDIT: If I'm to replace the dizzy, I can buy the usdm h22a1 dizzy right?

Personally, I don't think that is the ignitor.

Have seen alternators test good before when they weren't.

I also don't have any. Just threw a huge box of shit out about 2 weeks ago that probably had several in it. Sorry.

a bad ignitor causes only the tach to be jumpy, and nothing else.

You have a charging issue. Unplug the alternator and see how long it stays running.

HAHAH YOU GUYS ARE ALL WRONG!!!

Just kidding. I ended up bringing the dizzy into autozone and they checked the ignitor. It failed all of the "tests" they did on it. The guy has done H swaps before - couldn't find an exact "fit" for the dizzy housing, coil, ignitor and rotor. The H23 housing fit, but it was external coil so the harness was wired for an external. The 9091 accord was almost perfect (had a press fit rotor instead of a retainer screw on the H dizzy), but the ignitor wasn't exactly the same. On the 97 H22 (USDM) dizzy it was the same but it was only the housing, no CPS and no coil (again, external). Plus it was 230 bucks.

Brought the ignitor home, popped the dizzy on, started right up. I'm glad I got it fixed, but my job finally gave me a lot of service calls, and I got up extra early so I could knock them all out, and then this happened at 2pm.
