MTF Fill Plug Stripped and Seized?

My Fill plug for my tranny is stripped and impossible to get off.. can anyone tell me a way to put fluid in my tranny otherwise?

through the top vent tube. thats how i fill mine.

isn't the bolt hole square? how'd you strip it?

the drain plug has a 3/8 hole in it but the fill bolt is a 17mm and mines stripped.. ive done some searching guess ill try to fill it through the vent up top. or the vss spot..

i filled mine through the dip stick hole...i don't think yours have it...?

not on manuals we don't. i'm thinking of filling mine through the vent tube too to avoid spills and stuff.

Where is the vent tube.

right on top of our manual transmission. you'll see a square looking cap held down by four bolts near the shifter cables. on top of that metal square you'll see a tub with a rubber cap, that's your target.

they take 2L bang on, so it's easy to estimate when you're full. would suck if it was leaky though

If you fill through top, I have found it takes about 2.5 quarts to fill MTF (vehicle flat), after draining it. Keep track as you pour and account for any fluid that doesn't make it into the tranny (if you accidentally spill outside of the vent tube).

this same thing happened to me and i bought a oil pump(one that works by hand) and filled it through the drain.

when i decidied to take the stripped bolt out i put either a 16mm socket or a slightly smaller than 17mm standard(not metric) size socket and beat it on with a hammer

this is good to know. right now i have the car on jack stands and my tranny is completely empty.
