Front Driver's side wondow won't go up...Need some help ASAP!!!

DAmmit... I just replaced the motor for my rear passenger window (which didn't need to be replaced... I'm starting to not trust mechanics anymore!) and now my front window won't go up. I have the door panel off, all wires disconnected, and the water shield mostly off (I hate that thing. It rips so easily!)

So... I have no clue what I'm looking at! Unlike my rear window, this one won't move at all. I'm not even sure where the motor is! I'm guessing it's the box that's right above the speaker, but I'm not sure. My Chilton's manual is worthless. All I can think of doing is just disconnecting the motor, removing the window, and manually pushing it up to hold the window shut. I'll worry about replacing the motor later.

Has anyone removed the front driver's side power window assembly before? I could use some tips before I destroy something (or do more work than I have to!) I have to go to work tonight, school tomorrow, and it's supposed to rain somewhere in there. I NEDD to get this window shut by 4 at the latest!

Ok, I ordered a new motor and regulator from 1AAuto.com. $65 plus shipping (hopefully not too much... they said from $7-$22...)

Anyway, in looking at the picture of it, I see that the motor appears to be attached directly to the gear. It looks very similar to the motor that came out of my rear window assembly... the one that still works because I replaced it unnecessarily... Think it's possible to use that motor for the front assembly?

Dammit, I guess not... Even if it could be done, the rear motor is for the wrong side, so I don't think it will work

Ok, I'll stop replying to myself now!

        Check Switch

Make sure you check all of your switches. Check at the window switch of the door, and the master switch, as well as the master on off switch.

Yeah, I was sure to do all that... I paid $77 for a new motor for my rear passenger side window a few months ago, only to find out that I didn't need it. My mechanic told me I needed to replace the regulator, and it would cost me $300+ for them to do it. Turns out it was just off the track (like I thought.)

The front motor is definitely shot though. I got fed up with it yesterday and just removed the sucker. I took it apart, and one of the wires was corroded and had snapped. I ordered a new one from 1-A Auto, and I should have it in a few days (with any luck.)

To fix the window temporarily, I just put it back in (minus the motor and regulator), stuck one of the screws back in, and wrapped a wire coat hanger around it. Then I put the window up as far as it would go, and wrapped the hanger around part of the door. I have to drive around with the door panel off for a bit, and none of my switches work, but I'll live. It's better than having water in my car!
