Wait... your title says f22b1 and you are talking about f22a1's. Which are you trying to do?-Lance- (Formally known as H0ndaspyd3rLM)

Headers, IM, Vtec Solenoid, pressure switch, ecu.
Can't think of anything else right now...-Lance- (Formally known as H0ndaspyd3rLM)

The block has nothing to do with VTEC whatsoever. Get a head gasket for both motors, match them up, and see where the differences are.
Why are you doing this swap anyway? The gains are minimal, the reliability will be questionable, and the cost may very well end up being more than the H22A would be by itself in the end.

Maybe his f22b1 bottom end is built. I'd like to see it done.Originally posted by deevergote View PostThe block has nothing to do with VTEC whatsoever. Get a head gasket for both motors, match them up, and see where the differences are.

am thinking about swapping the head to a h22 and boost it i was saying i would get more hp and the the single head if its going to be a lot of work am going to stick with the single head and boost itOriginally posted by deevergote View PostThe block has nothing to do with VTEC whatsoever. The F22B1 head flows like crap... but it does ok with boost. You can make respectable power on a stock F22B1 as long as you do it properly. If I were in your position, I'd boost the SOHC instead of trying to make a frankenstein. Boosting a stock block is enough of a risk, without adding in the potential reliability issues of a headswap on top of it! Save the money you were going to spend on a head, and put it into buying GOOD turbo stuff. Don't buy a cheap small turbo... you'll need something larger for a 2.2L, and the proper size can cost money.

the questionability of the headswap is totally dependant on that of the installer.. ur posts make them sound bad.. i know your just trying to warn people of the possible problems that may occur.. but its as straightforward as doing a headgasket with a few extra steps.. and the benefits are there as you yourself stated..
f22b1 head = flows like crap
h22a head = flows alot better
h22a intake manifold= flows alot better as well..
more aftermarket support as well..
also.. the head will drop the compression ratio a decent about (8:4:1) if i recall.. making the engine even more boost friendly...
that is all..
oh..
Just for you

Meh... Carlos, you KNOW what you're doing... and I can think of at least one of your early engines that failed.
Is it something an experienced person could pull off flawlessly? Probably. Is it good for a first time boost AND headswap project? Only if it's strictly a project car. We're getting into the realm of potentially serious reliability issues... and many of them all at once.
Also, shrink that pretty picture, would you? It's huge (and making me want one...)
