    tcu difference?

ok i got a 91 ex automatic but the transmission went out on it and i replaced it with one from a 92-93 lx and i understand that those dont come with the s light on it... my question is ... do i have to change the tcu too? or can i just use the one from my 91???
i ask this because i feel a difference in the shifting and sometimes it acts weird sometimes it takes a lil bit longuer to shift or if feels like the second and third shift on top of each other and then whenever im going sixty its ok but once i give it a lil bit more gas to go to 70 if feels like the (i dont know if its the torque converter or whats that call) locks like it soppouse to but then sometimes if feels like it locks but then it lets go or sometimes when im going sixty or 70 my rpms go up a lil bit then drop back to normal but whenever i really step on the gas to really go i aint got no problems at all it responds good? my s light aint flashing and i aint got no stored codes on the tcu
got the ecu light on but its beacuse of the egr can the egr affect the shifting?
    any help out there guys?
i guess its time for a manual swap but i just aint got the money right now so... yeah.....
    so what could it be??

I would check the Trans fluid and make sure its full. TCU should not affect the tranny. if it does then your ''S'' light will come on blinking.
