The A6 runners are now sitting in my garage and are starting to get polished . I'm perfectly fine with sacrificing high-RPM horsepower in exchange for some more torque, cause with daily driving the torque is more important than max horse. I ordered bisi's gasket, and an EGR block-off plate. I don't know about removing the coolant lines though, I live in MN, and it gets cold here in the winter.

What does it take to clean out the insides of the manifold? I'm a little wary of getting it ported out because I wouldn't want the manifold ports to be bigger than the head ports, and I don't know what boring the throttlebody out further would do. I know there is such a thing as too big. If I were to port it out a little, what's the best way to do that? dremmel?

Edit: The total list of mods to my car is ebay header, high-flow catalytic converter, 2.5" catback, lightweight crank pulley, A/C and P/S delete, and a short ram air intake, and soon the intake manifold/throttlebody. If I'm removing the intake manifold, should I also replace the fuel injectors since that would be the easiest time to do it? If so, what should I put in their place?

I know JDM tends to have slightly better parts, so that's why I'm wondering.
I know for a fact the jdm h23a bluetop tb has a 68mm bore. Also it doesn't have the adjustable screw valve. AND that bottom piece that you connect to the coolant lines are in different positions (not too much difference) and is not detachable.

Also, the injectors on the h23a are 280 I believe which are smaller then the h22

68 mm should be plenty. Any more might start to take away power if I'm not running turbo or something. Neither intake manifold came with injectors, I'm wondering if I should upgrade from the F22A1 injectors. I just run stainless steel lines so where the lines attach to isn't important because I'd cut new ones. And which valve is the adjustable screw?

LUCKY! I had to dig for lines lol

its the little brass looking screw thats on most throttle bodies....you sin the screw to adjust the idle. h23a doesn't have one. mine didn't and nor did others that have one too.

Not exactly lucky. Every parts store sells rubber hose, it can be used in place of the molded hose. So if it doesn't have that screw, what kinda idle do you get?

Well obviously lol. I just meant do the idle higher or lower than stock or the same or what they do?

                  It should be normal....

however when i did my swap I have never gotten a nice normal idle, I know for a fact it wasn't because of the idle screw valve because I changed the tb to a h22 tb and it did the same thing. (I noticed a power loss too when I swapped my tb to a h22 tb and it sucked lol) I think whats wrong with mine is the whole intake system (which are crappy to me) which I don't car about anyways because I am going with a s2 mani. But I am keeping my h23a tb seeing that its a 68 mm.

Loafer987 has a h23a swap and I asked him if his idle was screwy like mine and he said nope, normal as though it was stock.

Guess it's kinda dependent on if people messed with any valves or something was bad or anything. Some people remove the FITV or IACV, or you could have a plugged EGR, dunno if that affects it.

This may seem like a really stupid question, but if I swap the ECU to run IABs. what sensor does the black box connect to?

And if the IABs are just connected to a vacuum line, what happens if you run turbo? Will that make them always open or always closed?
