You probably spun a rod bearing. Its time for another motor brah!

Even if it still 'runs' well no big loss of pwr, a spun rod bearing will cause a tap and have no other signs???

      What causes a spun bearing???

What causes a spun bearing??? no oil, pluged oil passage, that is what i think

this is odd, but check that all your spark plug cables are properly connected to the distributer.
me too had a loud tapping noise, because one of the sparkplug cables was not connecting right....

just check it..it might be simple as this

you sure it's not the good 'ol regular cb7 valve train clatter?

where's it coming from up top or down below?

sounds like top near the cam... wires been on and off a hund times now..

always been plenty of oil and oil psi... but maybe something clogged a lube hole and a bearing went... that sounds most logical so far...
Im two seconds from just scrappin the motor and getting a crated f22b dohc and sell this one for someone to frank with....

i knew getting one off a member for 3 after its been sittin a bit long was too good to be true... prob chalk it up to missed prep area ... Double check it on the next one...

              Who wants F20A parts??

something bad on the bottom end would most likely be a knocking sound. also check your injectors.

Mech said that the cams have worn down, seems something got all up between the cam and the mounts and wore them down pretty good, he said he can see it movin up and down about 600-1000 to fix it, so looks like im just ganna have to start agian...

Prob go with the F22b again...

Have you done a full maintenance to your CB?
And what grade oil are you using?

a head, dude they cost the same... y not just start over and put the bigger block in..., maybe its just me but i think there is a signifigant difference in pull between the F20a and the F22b, so y not go complete ....

f22 head will swap right on, trust me, it's easier.

Ya if i was conserned about keeping the 2.o block i would... i wouldnt swap for a f22a head because that would be going dohc to sohc... and if i got a craighted f22b dohc, y not just clean it up then put it in as a whole, clearly i dont know what this f20a went threw so i dont want to risk the bottom end going out too.... Besides I can swap a motor in a day, to pull the head and play , would take me longer being as i havent done it yet... (( <--- doesnt do internal Engine..))

although i was looking fwd to putting the 2.0 Si badge on....
