    Evaporative system unhooked

So i was looking through a list i needed for inspection
and it said the evaporative system was unhooked.
i have completely no idea how to "rehook" this thing, i think its the black cylinder underneath the little box which all the vacuum hoses go into, and i saw a thick red tube coming out of it which is just chillin on top of my intake mani. This is a h22a btw if it makes a difference
    any ideas?

I know for sure the red tube goes to the throttle body, for the rest look at some member rides and see if you can get a good look I'll try and post up a pic later.

        nobody else?
i looked in the shop manual and it called it a evaporative emission control system if that helps.
i really need to get this fixed

there is a vac line that goes to the top of it and the big red one that goes to it as well. If you pop off the top of the black box there are three vac lines. one goes to egr, one to map sensor and one to the evap.

follow that diagram under your hood it will show you.

You got to respect what you drive, and appreciate what you have, making the best of what you got. and if that means putting CAI, HID's, a phat stereo system, and a idiot in the drivers seat...then so be it!

The black box above fuel filter is emissions/vacuum box. From this box, one long vacuum line goes to EGR valve, one small goes into top of charcoal canister (large black cylinder under fuel filter). The MAP vacuum line (# 21) goes into TB small port, the rest of vacuum lines go into the ports on intake manifold plenum near TB. The red braided line from charcoal canister goes into the large 45 deg bend port at the TB.

If you do not understand this, get a service manual or reference the vacuum diagram sticker under the hood, as someone said.

if you do an EGR block off plate, can ou just cap off the vac lines and get rid of the black box?

You still would probably need the funtion of the MAP sensor in there.

You can get rid of everything EXCEPT for the map sensor. You'll have to keep that. You'll need the block off plate to get rid of the egr or else you'll throw a cel and your car will be running rich.
