Vent selector not working....what controls it?

I have a problem w/ my vent selector not functioning right. I'm not sure what controls it though. Right now all I can get is air blowing out of the top vents and not through the top/bottom, bottom, bottom/windshield, or the windshield. Is the motor that controls it located on the blower motor housing itself? Like in this illustration below as #9?

B/c everything else is working fine, the fresh/recirc opens and closes, and the blower motor is functioning properly....just the vents don't go to their proper positions when the buttons are pressed. I'm not sure where this part is located though, so hopefully someone on here knows.

figured it out, the contacts in the circuit board were just really gunked up w/ grease causing it to not transfer power to the motor. I just cleaned it w/ a q-tip and alcohol and lubed it w/ dielectric grease and it works again.

I know this is an old thread, but I'm having the same issue. Heater works fine, but heat will only blow through the dash vents and not on the floor.

Could this be caused by another issue besides a circuit board?

that pretty much controls the position of the motor. So if the motor is working then cleaning the contacts are your best bet.

Went to the junkyard today and pulled a couple of vent control components while we were there in case mine is bad. Thanks for the tip--hope it works!
