    motor running like $h!t

    hey everyone

after swapping my motor, she runs like shit. This car is supposed to be my daily driver, but seeing it runs like ass, I cannot drive it where I need to go. when idling, it idles rough, under acceleration, its rough and kinda bouncy you could say. when off the gas and in gear coming down a hill or something, it pops like crazy. I need a reliable car to get me to and from school/work, that is why I bought the accord. When I swapped the motor, I replaced the plugs and gapped them to .044 like I was told. It is a stock f22a1, same motor pulled from the car, just a lower mileage one. If anyone can help me as to why it is running like complete shit, I would be GREATLY APPRECIATIVE!

    Thanks In Advance

    Have you re-checked the timing?

Buy NGK or Denso plugs, should be gapped to .041". I've noticed every NGK copper plug set I get has been pre-gapped, but I still check to make sure before installing. Perhaps that is part of your problem, but I assume there is more issues.

No one can help you based on the information you posted alone. There are MANY aspects to the work you did, so many things you could have done wrong, forgot about, etc.

Try narrowing things down. Start by explaining exactly what you did...

Most don't bother setting base idle or base ignition timing after all the work, another thing to do/check.

Recheck spark plug wires for the correct order.

          .044" too much.
they are NGK plugs, the guy that helped me and myself were both told .044" Should I go buy new plugs and see if that works? also, what size socket do I need to get them out

One last thing, how do I recheck my timing. I have a timing gun and everything, just don't know how

And pretty much what we did, pulled my old dead motor out, pulled off the starter, and alternator, along with the power steeringg pump, mounted them to the new motor, put on a new water pump, changed the harness from old motor to new motor, changed oil, new radiator, honda type 2 blue coolant, new thermostat and put the motor back in

anyone know a loss of power at the 3k range when trying to get on it? car does smell like its running rich. car sat for about 3 months bad gas? i havent checked plugs yet ... its only like 20 or less degrees outside. but i plan on doin that tomorrow. car ran fine till i parked at the store... left it idling and then leaving i rope on it a little (never broke 5.5k) but when i went into 2nd it boged down and had no power after 3k.
