This morning I go to start my car to go to work. It cranks and just as the engine was about to kick over it stopped. Turned the key again and all it does is crank. I believe the distributor crapped out. looking for a second opinion. Oh yeah, the check engine light came on with code 15(ignition output signal).

What up Chris, it's Gabe. I been meaning to get at you. Yeah, I'm 99.9% sure it's the distributor.I didn't have time to check things being that I had to get to work. I just like to get a second opinion sometimes. I aint seen you around section 5, hows life?Last edited by 4U2H8ME; 01-13-2010, 12:20 PM.

Start with checking igniter unit, but if it is not receiving the signal then 1 of 3 engine sensors (TDC, CYP, CKP) in base of distributor is bad. I forget which though. Basically, you're better off replacing distributor base at this point.Last edited by HondaFan81; 01-13-2010, 01:15 PM.

Thanks I already ordered a replacement distributor. For 200 bucks I can't complain.Originally posted by HondaFan81 View PostStart with checking igniter unit, but if it is not receiving the signal then 1 of 3 engine sensors (TDC, CYL, CRANK) in base of distributor is bad. Thanks, but brand new from the dealer for 200.00 is a deal, I wouldn't have to wait for it in the mail, and it would have broken my track record, I can honestly say my car has never been down for repairs for more than 36 hours.Originally posted by Shag Wagon View PostJeeez I would have sold you a brand new one for $80.

Right on, usually they are $175-ish from reputable aftermarket. Can't go wrong with OEM and for that price, virtually same. Nice.Originally posted by 4U2H8ME View PostThanks I already ordered a replacement distributor. For 200 bucks I can't complain.
I would have done same, these specific parts are not cheap, will last you long time.

Well I got it for that price because I still have Honda employee status, and I've done a shit load of favors for the Honda dealers that the company I work for owns.Originally posted by HondaFan81 View PostRight on, usually they are $175-ish from reputable aftermarket.
