Just curious, when I turn my steering wheel, I hear this popping noise. It's not an axle, but it sounds like it's coming from under the dash somewhere in the steering colum. My local Honda dealer said to chech the rack and pinion and tie rod ends. Any one else ever had this prob. or any one have an idea WTF is causing the popping? Thankx in advance for the replys.

sounds like your cj joint. they like to go bad.. so i recommend you replace it before it starts spitting a nice grease and oil all over your underside and wheels.Adam - Retired OG member from '03

I have something similiar, its a very small, barely noticeable sound. It hasn't grown worse, and I think its just a cosmetic blur somewhere in the steering column. I don't worry about it.
on the stairs, she grabs my arm, says whats up,
where you been, is something wrong?
i try to just smile, and say everything’s fine.

This noise is definatly noticeable. But it isn't the cv joints, as I mentioned before...Nova: A star that suddenly increases it's light output tremendously and then fades away to its former obscurity in a few months or years.

well im not much of a suspension guy, but i just happened to know if the spindle nut wasnt tight it would pop....sorry i could help ya.....im sure you will get it fixed....BTW when i put new axles in my car, it popped when i went in reverse then back in 1st gear, but only if i turned my steering wheel.....so other words if i just reversed straight back then put it in 1st it would NOT pop, but if i reversed and turned the wheels it WOULD pop, but i just got a wheel alignment and its gone now.....so maybe try that.

Thankx for the advise! I do need an alignment... School just started back today, and I'm due some grant and loan money. Maybe once I get that extra cash I can get one...Nova: A star that suddenly increases it's light output tremendously and then fades away to its former obscurity in a few months or years.

it might be your ball joint upper or lower mine was making a noise near the stearing colmn sound but it was the ball joint check balljoint and castle nut upper and lower or tie rod
bad experience slidding 20 ft going down the street and slam down she goes with a snapped ball joint not fun and a snapped cv
