Car turns over but won't start! Help Please!

Alright so I go out to my car today to go run an errand. It will turn over but won't start. I have spark. I noticed that my gas gauge dropped to below the "E" symbol and won't come back up.

Right now I'm thinking it is the Fuel Pump or Main Relay.

Anybody have an idea what might be causing this?

Can you hear the whine from the fuel pump when your turn the ignition to run but don't crank it? Second after cranking it crack the bolt on the end of the fuel rail and see if you have fuel there. How does it sound when it's cranking? Is it rythmic?

I'm going to see if I can hear the fuel pump whine when my brother gets home. I did crack the bolt early and I barely have fuel going to it. When it is cranking it is rhymic.

If you hae the door open and your in your garage you should be able to hear the pump by yourself, and if you want to see proof of the fuel in there, pop the bolt out all the way and crank it over, should spurt up a good spray.

Well the pump does whine like it should and after I heard it I tried to start the car and it started right up. I'm thinking the Main Relay is the problem.

i was running into starting issues when my fuel filter was leaking

I don't think I am as the gauge said 1/4 tank before I tried for the first time today then it dropped all by itself. When I turned on the car and it fired the gas gauge came back up.

I didn't see any pools of anything under the car also.

Edited: I do have a new fuel filter I got from Sean I might just throw it on and see what happens.

The next time this pops up on ya, mash the throttle to the floor, that'll throw it into clear flood mode and see if it starts, also you can tap on the main relay and see if the car tries to stall or does stall (don't be a pussy about tapping on it)

x2 sounds like ur main relay is starting to wear out.

i had the same problem a while back, it was the main relay. sometimes it would start and sometimes it wouldn't. when u turn the key on u can hear it click under the dash before it started but wouldn't click when it wouldn't start. thats how i figured out what it was. i think that little bastard was like 80 bux from honda

Well the problem is back, it started up the last time this happened but now it will not start and it has been 3 days. I put a new main relay in and it still won't start.
