CEL problems, already did the paper clip but not working

Ok guys, so like yesterday in the morning I was heating up my car to go work, and wen I came back I had a check engine light on, but wasn't idleing nor nothing it was fine, wen I was driving back it was idleing, on 1st 2nd 3rd 4rd, on 1s gear it would idle like when you let go off the clutch too fast like if it wanted 2 turn off but it didn't , so today in the morning I was doin the paper clip trick to pull out the code but I notice wen I turned on to acc the engine light would go away wit the rest of the lights that light up ( battery light, oil light, srs light etc) and I turned the car on and the CEL would pop out put a paper clip but wouldn't do nothing it wouldn't blink, what can be the problem? Thanks in advance

I would unhook your battery, both positive and negative and let it sit for about a minute, hook it back up and restart your car. See if it comes back on. It may be an old code, since I've heard the ecu stores codes??

OR you probably didnt get the paper clip in there good enough. ECU could be going bad as well.

i would have to agree, if you cant retrieve codes with a good connection at SCC then R&R the ecu.

You can also attend the junkyard and get some connectors to slide onto the blue one. I think speaker harnesses and the bulb harness inside the shifter are the connectors you can use.

i just clipped the connectors off other cars to make my own honda SCC tool. the 90-91's and different than the 92-93's so one of those will mate.
