    3 Different CODES!!!

[ Having problems with my car lately. I was wondering if anyone had the similiar problem. My car starts and drives fines until the check engine light turns on. Once it turns on, the engine idles low and rpm drop fast between shifts. I have run the paper clip check on my car and it gave me 3 different codes... or maybe 4.. codes are as follows: 1,14,17,5. oh and my speedometer went out. But thats is part of one of the codes. I did the checks specified in the haynes guide and they all seemed fine except for th o2 sensor. I was wondering if anyone else has had similir problems. At first I thought it was the IAC valve or the fast idle thermo valve. but the car seems to warm up without erractic idling. Let me know if you have had similiar experiences. Thanks

Reset the computer and recheck for codes. 1 is an O2 code, 5 is a map sensor code, 14 is the idle air control valve, and 17 is the VSS signal. Check to make sure everything is properly pluged in, no loss vacum hoses and etc.

I think that you commented about the vss sensor and the wiring might be a cause of speedometer cutting out. Mine is out the majority of the time. It worked maybe for a few mile during the last 2 days. I looked at other posts and I will check the wires before I replace the sensor.

Check the connector at the sensor for corrosion and check the plug on the drivers side strut tower also that is where the VSS connects to the vehicle harness from the engine harness.
