Heres what you need to do:
Go to autozone or a parts place and get a hand operated vacuum pump, this makes this A LOT easier, there is a way to do this with gravity and suction involving a hose but it takes forever and I have never gotten it to work!
Almost directly in front of the front engine mount is the clutch slave cylinder, there is a bleed nipple on the side of it, loosen this piece but do NOT take it out! Remove the cap from the clutch master cylinder
Get the pump out, and load it up with dot 3/4 brake fluid
Hook one end of the hose onto the slave cylinder bleed nipple and the other line in the master cylinder resorvoir
Keep pumping until all of the fluid is out of the pump and into the resorvoir, 4-5 pumps should be enough...
As soon as your done pumping fill the resorvoir in between the max and min line with that bottle of brake fluid
hope this description is good enough its been a long day!
So, is that what you call a getaway?
Tell me what you got away with.
Cause I've seen more spine in jellyfish.
I've seen more guts in eleven-year-old kids.
Have another drink and drive yourself home.
I hope there's ice on all the roads.
And you can think of me when you forget your seatbelt,
and again when your head goes through the windshield.
And is that what you call tact?
You're as subtle as a brick in the small of my back.

I guess you could technically have it running but those headers get hot
Off is best

well the more correct thing to do is figure out where the fluid is going. It shouldnt be going anywhere because it is a closed system. Perhaps one or both of the cylinders are bad. Or another possiablity is a hole in the lines. I would check the lines, and then go from there, I'd bet the slave cylinder has went south and devoloped a leak internally.

The clutch slave cylinder is at the very front of the car...stand infront of your car, look down at the very front of the transmission. You should see a metal fork (on its side) looking thing that is coming out of a little ribbed boot. That thing infront of the fork is the slave cylinder. Should have 1 hydrolic line coming from it. I can take a picture of mine for you tommrow and i'll post it up if you need it.

Dusty pretty much got it.
You need a vavuum hoes to put over you clutch clyinder bleed nut.
one buddy to pump the clutch
One jar filled with water.
Some break fluid
before you start... put the vacuum hose on the cylinder bolt and the other side in the water
1. fill the clutch resivor leave the cap off
2. turn the clyinder nut one turn to loosen it
3. Have your buddy push the clutch down (make sure you start with the clutch up or you will suck water)
4. Check for bubles in the water
5. finger tight the clutch cylinder bolt
6. push the clutch petal up
7. repeat steps 2-6 until there are no air bubbles coming from the vacuum hose sumerged in water.
8. tighten your clutch cylinder bolt put a cap on your clutch resivor.
you got pressure...........Last edited by CBL; 01-13-2005, 12:10 PM.

alrite, i know this transmission is not on the car but it should work...see that thing that is closest towards the bottom?, that is the cylinder that has the bleeding vavle/nut on it. (the tranny is in the correct position)Originally posted by yeamans17ok will someone please post a picture of what the fuck i'm looking for, i dont have my haynes manual, and i havent found any pics online. sorry if i'm a bit irritable, but i've been stranded in a cold shitty iowa house since tuesday, and wont be going anywhere till my car is fixed. so pleae someone post a pic so i can get the hell out of here
so just turn that nut (small ass size, maybe use a box-end wrench or closed end to prevent stripping) to let out the air and close and start pumpin...it will take you a while (around 15-25 minutes)
the hole is for the starter...so look for the starter
hope this helps...if not ill see if i can get pics of it 2morrow in my car...Last edited by wed3k; 01-15-2005, 01:44 AM.

what u should do is have one of your friends get in the car buy a tubing wrench that will fit the fitting and have your friend pump the clutch 10 times and bleed do it till there is no air left and fluid is clear them do it like it brakes and remmber keep filling the cylinder dont let that drain down you will get air in there and i hope u didnt drive to long with it like that u may of hurt the cylinder but i dought it from the story u told so just do it that dont go out buy a pump or anything find out what size the fitting is and when u do utake the fitting out put some antiseez on the fitting it will help for any leaks and it will be easy to take off again if there was a problem and your all set easy it should be off to the right i think on the tranny i think good luck and then after doingthis process check for any leaks on where the fluid is going
1 friend
2 tubing wrench
3 antiseez
4 fluid dot 3
