    Alternator

What can cause a recently rebuilt alternator(put in in February) to die on me so soon? I just drove home from the shop and the battery light comes on and now the battery isnt charging.. This happened to me before (the reason I needed a new alternator in the first place.)

    Any ideas?

Assuming your alternator and battery are in good condition, check the electrical connection to the alternator (4 prong). If those 4 small connectors are not snug, it will not allow the alternator to charge the battery.

Read details in post #61 in "Problems - Symptoms & Diagnosis Log", it may be helpful in future as well:

if you got it from Autozone and its an Accord Alt. made in Mexico, then thats why. Those ones are crap. I upgraded mine, well not technically b/c I've got the H22 and need the Prelude one.

But the Prelude Remans are rated at 95amps of output and are made in Malaysia which I got from Autzone after I went through 2 Accord ones, vs 80 amps and made in Mexico.

The ONLY thing you'd need to do is swap the pulleys, and retain your accord pulley, everything else works just as it would w/ the accord one. It'll make your accessories run better w/ that 15amp boost, esp. at idle.

Checked the connections.. The 4 prong plastic connector was to say the least, corroded. Cleaned it and il see what happens.

The alt was rebuilt at a local shop. Gotta find the warrente info just in case it decides it doesnt want to work anymore.

              Btw love the sig.
