I had notchy shifts with the new style MTF from honda on my 6 Speed, Then switched to the syncromesh and the shifts are muchh smoother and crisp. And I used the honda MTF for about 500 miles and it sucked.

It was $9 a bottle for me. I dunno what you were looking at for $40 a bottle.
      It was a GM product.

          Bump

yeah....so now its grinding at anything above 2500 RPMs, pretty noticeable too. I think I'm going to try that GM syncromesh Friction modified.

Well, the GM fluid helps but didn't fix the 5th gear grind. All the gears go in a lot easier though and it feels like my tranny has a lot less drag when accelerating. I might have to drive it for awhile to really see if it fixes the grind.

Where can you find the synchros?

Never mind, I see you aren't using an f22 transmission

I just changed my MTF and motor oil. I used synchromesh and I felt a biggg difference. My gears shift smoother, but I haven't driven long enough to see if it's helped with the 3rd and 5th gear grind I've been having

yeah i don't know exactly how long its supposed to take to "condition" the grinds but I immediately noticed the gears go in easier. So far i've driven about 150 miles and the grind is still there. I'm going to give it about a 1000-1500 to determine if its actually making a difference.

                    Options.....
Replace the sycro with a oem part.. (it will happen again)
Buy another h trans... (It will probably grind)
Throw out or sell the h trans and just buy a f trans.

I think I even hear my TO bearing making some noise now....it kinda sounds like a TDI when I'm off the clutch at idle, then when I push it in, it goes away.

Its not even a freakin' year old either! KOYO TO bearing that came w/ my Exedy Stg. 1 clutch kit. Ugh...problems all come at once. Is that the worst its going to get? it'll just make noise?

Trying to see if I can get any feedback from you about the GM synchromesh FM. Do you still have it in the transmission and how is the trans behaving now?

the grinding went away completely for about a month or so but when I had to swap my axles it came back slightly. so idk, I think it works, I just may be low on fluid or something
