    JDM, OEM etc..

    hey i just got my accord in october its a 93 lx..
    pictures..

    i want to know all this stuff about cars right now i dont know alot..

    thing that i think i know but want to confirm

    JDM?
    OEM?

    things i want to know..
    how to do good burnouts, donuts, brake stands etc
    the after effects of doing the above (oviously bad)

    my plans are...
    i dont know if i should do this after interior or before (i cant wait...)
    i just need a box i have 3 subs..all 12's 2 1200w Sony Xplods (i know those arent that great) and some no name amp that claims to push 1000w..

    so either i get a 3 sub box for 12's which is expensive as hell..
    my buddy told me about making a box out of my trunk??
    all i have to do is get something strong enough to hold 2 subs when they bump too...(3 subs wont fit) and take out my back seat.. put the wood board there and the subs will move the air in the trunk edit: i talked to some people and they said that it will work it just wont sound as good..
    ===============================================
    fix interior since my accord is lx...

    any ideas on the best way to do this?
    so far my ideas are to look for a junked accord (dx or ex or wutever) and take interior from there and replace mine with it. but will everything fit the same?

    other idea is to paint the interior taking it out sanding the whole thing priming clear coating.. then painting.. or just letting a body shop paint it for me..

    ========================================
    paint job...
    buddy of mine says he can get me a cheap paint job for like 100-200 bux and he'll do all the work sanding, fixing body work(dents rust etc) then priming and painting etc...

    ill pay up 2 $500 for a full paint job if anyone knows where i can get a cheap one around the hartford,CT area..
    =========================================
    Rims!!

    I just talked to someone whos selling his rims for $300 he just wants to get rid of them..

    they are 17's gunmetal with a chrome lip and they come with low profiles..
    to me thats an awesome deal just because the tires cost more than 300..
    what do you guys think?
    ill put them on after i paint my car
    hopefully black color.

    ===========================================
    LEDS
    i want to change all my LED lights in my dash to red (except defrost which can stay orange) how hard is this and approx how much would it cost anyone know???

    help is appreciated
    thanks

      JDM = japanese domestic market
      OEM = original equipment that comes stock on the car
      USDM = United States domestic market

      burnouts and donuts could really mess up your engine and tranny...i suggest not to do them and they could easily be done with 5-speed...hard to do with automatics. dont know what brake stands are.

      dont know anything about sounds...sorry

      interiors could be swapped between 90-91 and then 92 can swap with 93's...the reason being that 90-91 have power seat belts while 92-93 have manual...the rear seats might be able to swap between all of them but im not sure...best bet is to get it from the junkyard but check for mold and stuff like that...if not, check the classifieds section here

      the [problem with cheap paint jobs is just that...theyre cheap. clear coat might come off and paint will fade and in a lil while, it will look like crap again...save a couple of more bucks and you could get a great job...but if youre looking for a decent job and nothing flashy, 500 should be fine.

      300 isnt bad for rims at all...check for tread wear on the tires and see if theres any curbage or if theyre bent...curbage is that he wasnt careful and he hit a sidewalk or something and scratched them up...but 300 is a good price...i think a couple of people are selling theres on here as well...again, check the classifieds section.

      as for the led's. theres a DIY (do it yourself) on here so search for it...gives you everything you need to know about this

        u cant do a brake stand in a front wheel drive car.

        its a rwd car thing. u hit the brake hard and give it gas and the front brakes lock up and rear wheels spin.

          Dude, you sound 14. Seriously, make sure your car is in good mech. shape before you do all your ricey mods. A $200 paint job? Come on... The questions you're asking lead me to believe you have lots of research to do before you know what you're getting into.

                ^^^ Take it easy man, we all start somewhere. At least he's making the effort to ask questions BEFORE he starts doing anything to his car.

                But yeah, pick one of the forums, preferably a performance-related one, and start reading everything you can from the beginning. Good luck, welcome to the forum.

                  Maybe you're not familiar with something called a joke.

                  2. A mischievous trick; a prank.
                  3. An amusing or ludicrous incident or situation.
                  4. Informal.
                  1. Something not to be taken seriously; a triviality: The accident was no joke.
                  2. An object of amusement or laughter; a laughingstock: His loud tie was the joke of the office.

                    you guys are funny.

                    as far as burnouts or whatever you want to do, its hard on the clutch, cv joints, tires, tranny, etc.

                    paint jobs, you pay for what you get..200 bucks is gonna be bs.
