    starter problem? need help!

When i turn on the ignition all warning lights are on like normal then i turn the ignition and i hear a click. starter right?
Well, i got the starter "fixed" and the problem is still there. i hear clicks!

Funny thing is that my dad and i messed with the already fixed and installed starter.
We poked it with a screwdriver over a 20 minute period. Then it worked fine! Engine started.
We let the car sit for 6 hours and the problem came back. IT JUST CLICKS!

    BATTERY IS GOOD
    ALTERNATOR GOOD
    FUSES GOOD
    NEW CLUTCH

I just recently had the block and head swapped due to low compression.
can the engine swap be an issue?
    maybe the wiring?

ANY ADVISE OR OPINION IS GREATLY APPRECIATED!!

Is it the actual starter that clicks? Or do you hear the click from inside the car? My first thought was main relay but if the starter is clicking, then it a starter issue.

well, my dad and I hear the clicking on the starter. Once we turn the engine, the starter works fine. I turn off the car and start it again with no problem. but after some time the starter clicks again.

I repeat: We did fix the starter 2 days ago.

The reason I asked is because I've seen reman starters that were bad out of the box/back from the shop. How was it "fixed" and what did you replace? It sounds like the brushes aren't making contact properly or a bad solenoid.

I just wanted to rule out other factors first. When it's doing the no start, try unplugging the small wire at the solenoid, make a jumper wire from the solenoid to the positive on the battery. If it starts, it's an ignition switch/wiring problem.

Is the positive wire (the beefy one from the battery to starter) in good shape? Does the engine rotate freely and are the teeth on the flywheel in good shape (rule out something causing the starter to jam).

So i went to start the car yesterday and today and it started just fine.
I flipped the swith a couple of times and it worked.

I took the starter to a shop where they fix them. Since they didnt had another starter.
they fixed mine on the spot, so i have the same starter as before.

OK, im going to start ruling things out like you suggest.
The bad thing is that its raining here in Chicago and i park on the streets!

          Thanks alot bro!

it sounds like u got a bad starter. u said u took it to the shop and they fixed it. it shouldnt have a problem and if it do u need to get another one. if it was the main relay the car would still crank but wont start.
