Was driving back home today from Wal Mart....car was driving absolutely fine the whole time. Then Im crusing in 2nd gear and I look down and the car is dead. I tried to pop the clutch as I was rolling...didn't work. So I pulled over...car won't start at all. I pulled all the plugs and they were fine, checked all fuses, they are all fine. Swapped back in my stock ECU, sprayed some carb cleaner in the TB, and still she just doesnt start. No CEL's, I can hear the fuel pump priming. She just turns over like she wants to start...but doesn't. Main relay? Anything else you can think of?

i do have some oil in my plug wells actually...nothing crazy, but theres some in there. Any ways to check if the dizzy is bad aside from pulling it?
Im actually thinking it may have been my t-belt. Which I hope it wasn't, but I just saw a youtube video of a guy's CB with the same problems and symptoms, and he tried cranking it. Got the same result and sound as mine..and his Tbelt had snapped. Guess Ill go pull the valve cover and see! WeaksauceLast edited by Darren93; 07-08-2010, 07:48 PM.1993 Accord LX *Under construction*

believe i'm having ignition issues too. gotta change the plugs again tomorrow, then look into replacing the dizzy, or at least the coil. this is one of the biggest ongoing confusions and issues with these cars. they get super hot and wear out prematurely. or not, either way you look at it, it's kinda annoying!
life is good.

well, I pulled the valve cover and I looked at the timing belt...it doesn't look like it brokens, at least from that point of view, but it definitely old and worn out and needing a change. One thing I did notice was that I could move the belt back and forth on the cam gear easily. I tried to pull it a bit to see if it was broken at the bottom...but it didnt pull up. Im kinda stumped...either way, Im gonna stop trying to start it, and take it to a shop tomorrow to see what's up.1993 Accord LX *Under construction*

you can check your dizzy by just checking for spark... if you have a checker it makes it easier there really cheap and can be bought at any auto parts store just goes in the end of your plug wire and you crank and see if you see a spark in the little window if not its something with the ignition ie either the main relay or the dizzy or maybe some wireing problems

Sweet...appreciate it. I'm going to take it into the shop tomorrow though, since I think it's the timing belt. And if it's not, It needs to be changed anyhow. Thanks again for the info.Originally posted by Nyne521 View Postyou can check your dizzy by just checking for spark... if you have a checker it makes it easier there really cheap and can be bought at any auto parts store just goes in the end of your plug wire and you crank and see if you see a spark in the little window if not its something with the ignition ie either the main relay or the dizzy or maybe some wireing problems1993 Accord LX *Under construction*

yea man check spark, real easy, hold spark plug wire close to engine ground, and crank, it'll either spark to the ground or spark you. Either way you'll know you got spark. I wanna say its the ignitor if your tach went to zero, the ignitor sends the tach signal and is a clear indicator of the ignitor going bad.
also no spark is gonna sound like the engine is missing a cyl when cranking
