    Need Info. A.s.a.p.!!! Before Tomorrow!!!

Okay guys, HELP if you can, PLEASE!!! I have a F22A1, and just recieved my DC Sports header for a F22A6. I ordered it this way because some members here say it will provide a little bit bigger HP and torque gain. But, as we all know, the O2 bung on the A1 is right below the exhaust manni collector, and the A6 bung is near the cat. converter. What I need help with is do I have to cut and splice the O2 sensor wires to make them longer? Or can I run the sensor and wires over the back of the tranny and their be plenty of length in the wires? I read some time ago on here that I would have to cut and splice, which would be fine (bought the extra wire and connectors tonight...). But a while ago (tonight...) I read a thread that said in it some members just ran the sensor and wires over the tranny, which would be better and less work, if it can be done. So, which is it? Cut and splice? Or reroute? Thanks in advance for your help.

Either will work......If you splice, be sure to use heat shrink for a tight seal......

check the bottom of your box man, cuz when i got mine i got a 02 extention with mine that i had to run back behind the tranny

All I got was the 3 bolts and 3 ring gaskets.

Thankx for all your help! Gotta go to bed now, I'm worn out! Been a long day... Thankx again, and guess I'll see how the install goes tomorrow! I'll post the results...

Dude, just get the header for an A1. Only the stock manifolds are different. As far as aftermarket, the only difference between the two is the O2 sensor location. So why waste time cutting up your engine harness.

yeah, DONT CUT IN BETWEEN THE o2 sensor and the plug in, cut and splice the engine harness part, or else it wont solder....

THIS is what you are !!!!!!ing about?

looks like you got jacked by DC with the harness.. from what ive seen with my old one and my friends is that ALL DC headers come with the extension harness.. hell, even my chikara header had the extra wires in the box.. just extend the wires, make sure the connections are good and wrap it in heat shrink or at least wire loom.. its not that big of an issue.. :o

also from what ive seen, all aftermarket headers for 4th gens have the relocated o2 bung..

and phatdoughnut.. have you actually done this or seen someone do that? if so, they/you are retarded for splicing that freakin close to the sensor..

He said NOT to cut near the sensor, he said cut past the o2 sensors plug into the engine harness. You'll be very lucky if he doesn't rip you. I did this on my lx and extended the harness not the sensors wires. If you extend the sensor's wires then what happens if the o2 goes bad? You'll have to do the same cut and splice with your new o2.

i realize what he said.. in order for him to even bring that up though, hes had to have seen it done somewhere... i was just reitterating how retarded it is..

Yes i did it, and it wasnt that close to the sensor, it was a happy medium. it was pretty far in, who knew the wires on there were not solderable? and like Midnite said, the reason i did it was because ive seen ones that you have to splice into your old connector. universal ones..

so you can call me dumb or whatever, but my sensor works just fine now...

plus i dont go posting all this little shit, i like to figure out things on my own

Well, got them installed!!! Everything as far as the O2 sensor seems to be fine, even though he had to cut and splice. The only other thing we ran into was minor. The metal bracket on the down pipe that bolts to the block (located on the same side of the block your oil plug is on...) didn't match up. Oh fuckin' well! Like that's important anyway. Especialy since there is a hanger close to it... So far, as far as performance goes, it's hard for me to tell right now... It's been sprinkeling rain the better part of the day here, and all I really noticed is my tires spin real damn good on take-off now. But like I said, the road was damp. Not totaly freakin' wet or anything, just damp. So that has something to do with it. So, when it dries off, I'll post an update on the performance. Once again, thankx to all who replied! That's one reason I love being a member here, everyone is so friendly and willing to help!

trust me, im a HUGE advocate for trying shit out before asking on a message board.. ive seen soooooo many simple as fuck things that people ask about on here that im sure (well i hope) they could figure out if they would simply look at the car and put 2 and 2 together..
