well, im working on a 91 ex, that had been down for 2.5 years because of a fuel pump
the gas is yellow, it still starts and runs, and currently is mixied with 93 octane
anyway, the original problem was, fuel pump was installed, car turned on and ran for 5-8 mins (the owner said), then it turned off, no compression after that.
He gets somebody to look at it and they diagnose bent valves, 3intake and 2exhaust were down.
i get the job and started the tore down, first thing i find is, all seals on timing side have been changed, WP and timing belt too, plus the belt looked new.
i take the head out and yes 5 valves are open (cam off)
i get another head, clean it (dawn pwr dissolve, thanks type g
)
no leaks on the valves, i get it resurfaced and put everything back.
car starts slight misfire, i hear the rockers, so took the cover off, and guess what? 3 intake valves are down again, dissapointed i take the head off again replace all 8 intake valves with good ones, lubed the guide, lapped all valves, adjusted all, and put everything back.
car starts, misfire is slowly diminishing, after an hour of being on, turned off, and went home.
next day went to start the car, and again freewheeling no compression
first thing i did was took the cover off and the same 3 intake valves are down
WTFF

never in my life i've had something like this happen, and after talking to the machine shop, they told me they have had similar problems on old honda heads, being that the gas gums up so bad it sticks to the valve and locks it to the guide.
have anyone ever had this problem?
thanks
