    Car won't stay started

I have a friend with a 93 Auto SE and he tells me that it won't stay started.

I have searched but I keep getting a error message when using the search feature.

Symptons: Car starts, gets to the normal idle, then shuts off. Seems to be some sort of fail safe. I try to restart it and it won't start. I go the next day when the engine is cold, same thing, starts and gets to the normal idle, then shuts off. I am leaning more towards a electrical issue more than anything. When starting when cold, it has no issues until it warms up. during these starts and shut downs, all electrical items are operating normally.

I checked it out and I have checked all the following:
    Spark plugs and wires.
    All grounds
Tested fuel pump with a multimeter and it is getting voltage.

    Any suggestions?

On cold start, can you start it up, drive around till it warms up, then shut it off, and you try to start it wont start?

Have you checked the main relay..yes I know you checked the fuel pump but it may have been ok for just that moment. Battery and connections clean and tight? I don't know of any "fail safe" on our Accords. And you get no codes? I'm thinking electrical if it starts and while idle it shuts off. ECU?

        Thanks for the responses.

@SaiSoFine: On a cold start I can start and drive it around, then it will shut off by itself while driving or sitting once its warmed up.

@SilverShadow: Battery and connections are clean and tight. No Codes and I have not checked the main relay. Once I remove the main relay, what do I need to look for? Cracks? Bad soldered joints

Update, I swapped the suspect main relay into a friends CB7 and it stayed on.
I drove the car for about 30 minutes and it never shut off. So that rules out the main relay. Any other suggestions?

if it shuts off while driving, its most likely the igniter unit. Does the tach twitch and drop to zero right before it dies?
