hey all.......i havent seen this brought up, but has anyone had any worse gas mileage when using gas blended with ethanol........around here, they try to get us to use it by having it the same price as reg unleaded.......anyhow, reg unlead is 87 octane and the ethanol mix is 89 octane.......i havent noticed anything different with power or acceleration or anything, so i was just wondering if anyone else had noticed decreased mileage.........and yeah, everyone knows my motor has 199k beat-to-death miles on it........

it is a known fact that ethanol burns cleaner.
in sense it'll 'clean' your engine (because of your valves being carbonated and the rest of your enginge yadda yadda) because it burns cleaner - thats why they say in all the ads that it helps your engine in this way and that.
if you run two bottles of ethanol before u go to emissions you will pass.
i did this to my mom's 92 crown vic after it failed.
went to autozone bought all this tune up stuff - didnt install it,
ran two bottles of it and went back....passed w/ all green. -
thought top fuel was methanol.......
