While I was driving down a street at like 40 mph, the wind knocked over this garbage can into the street. I slammed on the brakes, my car slid alittle, but the whole car shut off? The Battery and Oil light came on, and the car shut off. I tried to start it, but it didnt b/c I was still in Drive (D4). I put it in park and it started and drove fine. What is going on?

I dont want anyone to think im dumb, but i went back around the block and recreated the scene sorta. I drove to 40 mph, braked HARD, and the car shut off. It's snowing here in NYC, so my car only slid alittle. The car went off, or at least the engine did. I think it went into ACC mode. Why would it do this?

Bad ground.
Make sure your battery tie-down is secure, and make sure your terminals are tight. Doublecheck all your main grounds.Former: 90 Accord EX Coupe, 93 10th Anniversary in Frost White
