    Injector Flow test bench

I have been thinking of a way to measure the flow of injectors.

    Obvious parts needed:
    Fuel Tank (2 liter)
    Fuel Pump
    Aquarium or large beeker
Fuel Rail (Cut just so there is 1 injector)
Tubing to go from fuel tank/pump to injector
    12v battery and wiring

Now what I don't know is a way to measure the flow in cc.
Anybody have any ideas, or anything they would change?

I have about 40 injectors floating around. I think it would cost me less to make my own tester than it would to get them sent out.

Unless someone knows how to distinguish what is what, H22,F22,H23 - US, JPN spec.

    Test

I would do the test on 4 injectors at once, just make a rig with 4 separate containers that they flow into.

As for the flow... that is easy. All you need to do is provide power to the injectors for a specific amount of time.

You need a circuit that will run for say 5 seconds.

Since all of the flows are measured in cc/min you simply measure the volume of fuel sprayed then divide it by the amount of time you flowed them for.

You should also have an adjustable fuel pressure regulator so you can do them at various pressures.

I would make a circuit using a small and cheap micro controller, easy to program and cheap to acquire. That will do the 5 seconds or whatever time you choose then turn off.

It sounds like you would only be doing flow tests, not latency tests, so that should be good enough.
