    Cam seal replacement

I'm going to be replacing my cam, crank, and balance shaft seals soon and I need some suggestions on how to properly install them. I downloaded AND PAID FOR ericthecarguy's timing belt video and he uses a special service tool for the camshaft. Something similiar to this http://www.handsontools.com/Schley-6...ol_p_6319.html . Is it necessary to use this?

Can someone give me some tips on how to properly install the seals so they don't leak?

    Thanks,
    Cris P.

get your self a longer bolt that fits the bolt pattern for the cam or balance shaft sprocket and a deap well socket and a washer. slide the seal over the cam shaft or balance shaft then install the socket in the same manner. run the washer on the longer bolt and thread the bolt through the socket into the cam or balance shaft this will press the seal in. that is how i did it before i got the tool.

    IT IS WHAT IT IS

Good idea, thanks guys! Do you remember what sized socket and bolt length and thread pitch you used?
