F20a intake and exhaust manifold differences

I started to tear into the f20a to learn more about it today

    Heres some things i discovered

First i noticed the exhaust manifold has a pt2 stamp where as the f22a has a pt6 stamp. I noticed the hole was slightly bigger so i grabbed a ruler

    f22a6/pt6 = 1.5 inch outlet
    f20a/pt2 = 1.75 inch outlet

Next up i looked at the intake manifold when i noticed the bracket on the block wouldn't fit my f22a6 runners with h23a1 plenum

The nub on the bottom is an inch depper, the sensors are reversed and it looks to me that the runners are different as well. Im not going to use this since i don't want to spend alot of time cleaning the EGR/runners for carbon buildup

The plenum and TB also have pt2B stamps on the.

did you get a PT2 to run it?

Nope. They didn't have any PT2's

Im either going to run it on a p14 or a pt6.

With the exhaust manifold being that much bigger is where it get's the extra power over the F22a.

I was thinking about that but all the p39's on ebay are expensive as shit

Is there any way i can run the p14 and not get a CEL for the knock sensor?

Could i just plug the knock sensor in and have it sit inside the car ? or would that still cause a CEL?

Also what kind of fuel does the f20a dohc take, premium or normal?

task the plenum of the the f20a, i would like to see it

also this engine has 9.5:1 compression, premium gas might help it, just a little, not like the 8.8 from the f22

also, some h23 cams might help you too

I read that is has a 9:5:1 compression ratio

Im not really sure what that means though

I also read about the h23 cams but could not get a defintive answer so i did not put them on. Its too late as well as there is no way in hell im redoing the timing belt.

the h23 has a higher compression than f20a/f22b, more duration and just a little more lift

if you have them, i wouldnt mind going through the timing again, ITS not that big of a deal

with these cams, a better header, that intake manifold, premium gas and a tune and you'll have a pretty fast f guaranteed

also, this engine can go to 7.5k rpms with no problem, using a stock ecu would rob you soooo much

the timing belt was a big pain in the ass. i have no intrest in going through it again.

And its kind of strange but the timing gear was defetive from the factory

When you drop the 5mm dowel pins in to lock the cams in place the intake cam " UP " mark points the wrong way

And the engine redlines at 6700rpm so why would i want to go to 7500???
