auto tranny trouble!!! need help asap

ok, I sold this transmission and I know its good, but it wont shift out of second gear... it drives really smooth if you just put it in first and go, but the S light is always on and it wont shift out of second when you put it in drive...

the tranny is out of a 92 and is going in a 91 (has the sport shift thing...)

could this be a bad sensor somewhere??? PLEASE HELP!

mmmmmmm it might. did u have to swap the front left sensor??? because the plug on that 92 tranny sensor don't go on the plug on the 91 engine harness.
also get the tranny code and see whats up. it might be a selenoid problem or a tcm problem

              http://home.earthlink.net/~michaelpk...owTo_Codes.htm

go with this guide. but u have to count the "S" light... how many times it blinks. one long blink is a 10 one short one is a 1.

search around here for the tcm codes. if u can't find it then go to technical on the top to a sticky and download the honda on line manual. there u will find the ecm and tcm codes and the symptoms for them...

well the thing is there are no CEL codes being thrown... or could these solenoids be bad without an Codes being thrown?

If the 's' comes on there should be a tranny code to get. Maybe a bad/incompatible(?) tcm?

on the stairs, she grabs my arm, says whats up,
where you been, is something wrong?
i try to just smile, and say everything’s fine.

well if ur S light is on all the time then there should be a code. or u got that S light button on lol.

but if everything is ok and the tranny still acts wierd without a code then there is a good chance its a bad tcm.

One my brothers 91 accord i remember when we changes the water pump we disconnected some of the harness on the drivers side under the hood and I guess someone forgot to plug in one of them fully then when we went to test the car out it wouldnt shift out of first if you put in in d3 or d4. But it would shift manually. Then when we checked the harness and made sure it was in properly everything worked fine.

thanks for all the help and quick replies! Ima try to get a code from it and if thats not succesful then I know where to get a TCM from a junkyard...

next question: will a TCM from a 92-93 work in the 90-91 since the 90-91 has the Sports shift?

i see no reason on why it should not. i belive that the 90 91 models have the S light blinking and the 92 93 models have the d4 blinking( i read it somewhere around here)
