Test only smog check failed

Took my car to get smogged today and failed.
This is what i got and its the only thing that failed.

NO(PPM)

I really need to drive my car and need help, badly.

did you make sure that your car was fully warmed up before they ran the smog test? That will make a difference.

All done.

Yeah everything was fine and the car was warm. Yesterday me and my pops took the car to a shop he used to take his old car and they took care of the problem. They put a new cat and the numbers changed dramatically.

if not then NOx is the egr lines in the manifold. basically it means too much heat into the cylinders and the job of the egr valve is to take some of it out of the exuast and recirculate it back into the intake through the egr passages...

yet if they are cloggin up then the egr aint doing a darn thing....

yea i was going to say changed your cat! cuz my ride didnt pass at first and then i changed the cat and it passed like new..normally aftermarket cats lifetime is 2-3 years. after that they are useless

the reason they dont last as long is cause they are like half the size being less efficient, yes its stupid.

I just had that same problem. Last month i took my emmisions test and failed the idle portion of the test horribly. I have a Catco high flow 2.25 and a cam and was starting to get worried that i would have to replace them to pass. Before i went and took my retest i made sure i drove the car really hard and got it really hot then took it and passed with flying colors without having done anything but have some fun. Drive it hard get it hot.

Yeah it passed.

YES it passed with flying colors. I still plan to check out the egr and clean the ports to make sure everything is in order.
