    Maintence Required, CEL doesn't flash.

Today the Maintence Required box turned red, so i went to read the CEL and the Check light stays on, doesn't flash at all. does that mean the code is 1?

That little box is mileage based. If you stick your key in the slot next to it, it will change it back to green for ya

the maintenance required light is not connected to anything electronically, it is merely a plastic dial that turns red after you have driven 7,500 miles, meaning it is time to change your oil. there is a small slot to the left on the gauge cluster, push your key into it to reset it.
