    Combustion Chamber Repair

Just want to get some opinions on weather or not you guys think this cumbustion chamber is repairable ( H22A Head). Small piece of metal was in the chamber, had to be in there when I recieved the motor, and on first fire wasnt running right. Removed head and found this. Block will have to be honed and piston replaced.

Maybe. As long as the valve seats are not damages.
A shop can tig weld the gashes in and machine it back to normal.

Yeah, but it might be cheaper to get a jy replacement, I guess it depends on the shop and how much they charge. OP is it only on the one chamber? If so this suggestion might be cost worthy, if its in multiple chambers its probably gonna be cheaper to get a new head. Someone on here JUST had an H22 die on them, might be able to get their head off them.

if the seats is not damaged there is no need to do anything about it...

Wouldnt these gashes cause bad swirling/air flow in the combustion chamber?

a good H22 head can be found for as little as 150-200 dollars, so if its more than that, just get a new head

except that that chamber will have a higher potential of un burnt fuel making it out of the chamber and/or increased carbon build-up over time. True, it wont be right away, but its going to eventually come back to haunt him.

naah, if you are worried you can use a dremel and smooth it out a bit, this is not somethhing that will give you serious problems at a stock engine

                            JB weld lawlz.

I agree with the tig welding suggestion and because it will most likely lay flatter and you can take a grinder and touch up the welds. It should be good after that.

the head looks repairable bro,you said there were pieces of metal bouncing around the cylinder.i just hope that the fiber reinforced metal cylinder wall didnt get damage.becuz i think you cant hone h22a cylinder walls.
