    sensor

i know there are other topics about this but i cant find one specific to my problem or that solves my problem

i have a 90 accord lx my speedometer sometimes works sometimes doesnt
randomly it stops working (when driving)

usually im driving along speedometer dies.. after a little bit the S light starts flashing.

my uncle told me that the sensor is visible when you open up the hood.. so you can take it off then clean it.. and it will work. (this is what he told me)

    help plz.

Most likely the VSS(Vehicle Speed Sensor). It is mounted on the tranny and cleaning it will be pointless. You can get one at a junkyard for a reasonable price.

yep its the vss, I got one new for like $45 somewhere on the interweb. Here's a website showing the procedure http://www.cybertrails.com/~bestinth...tLocation.html

on the stairs, she grabs my arm, says whats up,
where you been, is something wrong?
i try to just smile, and say everything’s fine.

see the link in my post above ^^^^^, it's not too hard with the right tools (get a wobble extension or one of those flex extensions (home depot has them, prob sears too...)) and you can knock it out in 10-20 minutes
