Quick Engine Question

I was wondering, I know there are similarities between the '90 & '91, and '92 & '93, and some things are differant between the '90 & '91's, and the '92 & '93's. But what I wanted to know is, are there any differances in the engines? Is the EX engine the same in a '90 and a '92? Or did something change?

As some of you may know, I'm looking for an EX intake manni for my LX. So far, I think I've found an A6, but it is a '90 or '91. Will that work with my '92? Thankx in advance for the replys!

the a6 were only for the ex models for the 92-93 and for all the se's...you should really check if its an a6 coming from a 90-91...the a6 manifolds are better because of the secondary butterflys that open up for some added hp

Yup u need the A6 intake manifold to get the extra horsepower.

yes thats just about all. I have a a6 in mine and the butterfly opens up around 4500 rpms it really makes a diffrence

That's great and all guys, but still dosen't really answer my question. I know the intake manni off the A6 is better, but I'm tring to figure if the A6 was around in '90 & '91. And if the EX was the same in '90 & '91 as it is in '92 & '93. I called a salvage yard this morning that said they had a '90 or '91, and I asked them to check on which engine was in it, since they were not sure if it was a DX, LX, EX or what. I just wanted to know if I was wasting my time or not... Thankx for the replys though!

The a6 manni is alot better i think soysauce cb7 has one for sale. Should give you 5-10 hores i meen horses.

the only engine that i know of that had the a6 manifold in 90-91 accords was the se...everything else was either a1 or a4. i know theres another way to see if you have the right intake manifold but i cant remember how.

i'm not sure but do those years and models come with an external distributer coil??

i dont thnk the 90-91 came with external coil only the 92-93

yep only 92-93's came with the externals, lucky bitches.

and i believe there is a thread somewhere on here that lists all the differences between the 90-91's and 92-93's. do a search.
