    head identification

Im a commercial driver and im only home for a week every 2 months or so. well last time i was home my buddy (whos kind of my business partner) and i had to upgrade our parts storage to a bigger unit. Well a friend wants to buy an f22 head off me, so i sent my buddy to go pick it up. apparently we got the heads mixed up and dont know which is which. is there any way to identify an a6 head with out micing (sp) the cam? if i cam remember correctly, all the casting marks are the same on the head right? that also got me thinking, i bought the a6 head, manifold, and distributor off a buddy of mine whos a K guy and didnt know about the a6 difference. i might not have even bought an a6 to begin with lol.

    anything i can look for?

On the distributor side of the cam the cam should be stamped 4B if it's an A6, 3A for F22a1/4.

I thought they were all PT3 casting, since essentially they're all the same thing... just different parts bolted on. Am I wrong?

I was thinking they were the same except the cam and possibly the retainers were different. I could be mistaken but I thought I read that somewhere. When you change to the f22b is where it is different.

Nothing concrete has been determined... and it is widely known that the head castings are the same.

cant you go to hondas website and just compare the part numbers off of the different years to see if they are different?
What makes me laugh about forums, is that no matter how much you try to help someone, they dont take the advice. Go ahead and do it the hard way.

You got to respect what you drive, and appreciate what you have, making the best of what you got. and if that means putting CAI, HID's, a phat stereo system, and a idiot in the drivers seat...then so be it!

We've already done that. We know that the part numbers are different. But nobody has actually measured the difference in stiffness. Wes has that ability, so that would indeed be useful information.
