You use a 12mm socket and take off the 3 bolts holding it on...pull and vuala (sp?) you have removed your distributor

I believe you mean the Alternator?
You're best bet is to get a helms manual. All the info is right in there.

        1. Disconnect the 2-p and 8-p connectors from the distributor.

        2. Disconnect the spark plug wires from the distributor cap.

        3. Remove the distributor hold-down bolts, then remove the distributor
        from the cylinder head.

guys why would he need a dizzy for a more powerful amp?? read his post again... I'm almost positive he's talking about his Alternator.
          here's how
          1: Disconnect battery.
2: Disconnect electrical connections to alternator.
3: Loosen adjusting bolt and through bolt and remove belt.
4: Remove adjusting bolt and through bolt and remove alternator.
5: Install is reverse from removal.
6: Tighten through bolt to 33 lbs.
7: Tighten adjusting bolt to 17 lbs.

If you don't feel comfortable doing this yourself take it to a shop.

The two bolts you'll need to get to are both under the alternator. I found it very easy to get to with a 10mm wrench. if they are rusted on there pretty good get some liqud wrench and spray them down. You'll probably want to replace them both at this point.
There's another bolt you'll need to remove that's right above the alt.

off topic right here. spelling is "voila"
but it seemed the topic was pretty well covered so i didnt want to repeat anything already said.
