    Consistent sputtering, transmission issue?

'90 EX with about 293,xxx miles. When I start the car and begin to drive the problem is non-existent, but after about 5 minutes of driving the car starts to sputter and struggles to go past about 2k rpm. This problem becomes ESPECIALLY evident when I'm in 4th gear. After a while, it starts to happen with all the gears, and it gets increasingly frustrating to drive. I'm starting to think it's the clutch and that it's just ready to be replaced.

Could the issue be anywhere else?
If you need any additional info just ask.

    Please & thanks!
    IF, implies a possibility.

Start with the basics, check : spark plugs, spark plug wires, distributor cap, air filter/fuel filter. You dont wanna jump and end up getting a new transmission when you didnt need it, it doesnt sound like a tranny problem anyways.

yea what he said. Also try and unplug the egr electrical connector then drive, does it still stutter?
What makes me laugh about forums, is that no matter how much you try to help someone, they dont take the advice. Go ahead and do it the hard way.

You got to respect what you drive, and appreciate what you have, making the best of what you got. and if that means putting CAI, HID's, a phat stereo system, and a idiot in the drivers seat...then so be it!

Okay. I'll go ahead and check on those tomorrow as soon as the sun comes up. Thank goodness..time and money I didn't want to spend, lol.

And EGR electrical connector? Where do I find that?

engine bay, lower intake manifold, gray plug, under the vent line for the crank case, next to the fuel rail, held down by 2 14mm nuts, has a single vac line going to it.

if that egr doesn't fix it, then try to unplug the o2 sensor and check if you still have the issue.
