Gas pedal initially feel like a dead fish

When I press on the gas pedal initially (at the start of it) it feel like there's nothing happening, its like air. That only happens about 1/2 to 1 inch into the engagement then it picks up a load and starts opening the throttle like normal.

I want to get the pedal correctly adjusted, what can I do to fix this? It feels ghetto how it is right now.

Didnt you just do an engine rebuild? You didn't adjust your throttle cable right, sounds like there's a lot of slack.

The adjustment on the cable is fine. It was doing this even before my rebuild. I just never knew to fix it before.

I think its fine, the manual says 3mm are supposed to be left on the thread.

There should only be 10mm, up or down, of play. What throttle body and rotor are you using?

The rotor I'm speaking of is the one on the throttle body, where the cable is attached. If you insist that your cable is adjusted correctly, the only other way I can see it having a dead spot is that you have a stretched cable (unlikely) or you have an impoper sized rotor on the throttle body.

yeah the cable looks fine. maybe its not adjusted right, but isn't there a way to adjust the pedal itself?

Yeah...adjust the cable right. You seem to be good at taking videos. Go take a video of you moving the cable up and down, but not enough to move the rotor. I seriously believe this is your issue.

The cable is connected to the pedal ha, it sounds like it's not adjusted correctly.

                        Consider this:

If the cable is adjusted correctly as you believe, then the cable might be stretched. There is only one adjustment on the cable.

^^^ Very valid point, it very well could be stretched.
