    A/c line repair

So my car had converted to r134a and that was in may/June and it died out and didn't go so cold in sep so I had it topped off and it lasted a week now the compressor won't even kick on. I have some Walmart refrigerant but I'm scared of the stop leak stuff in every bottle I found just like the stop leak for coolant I think it will just gunk it up and cause problems I don't need so I'm prepared to empty out the system by a machine and repair it. How maney gaskets are in the system? I'm figuring its Ben 20 sum odd years so they got worn out plus according to my car fax I'm on like my 2 or 3 rd engine because some people didn't know how to keep a Honda running

Should I go for trying to replace gaskets , lines, compressor , etc
    What should I do ?
I'm trying to prepair for next summer

The previous owner of mine did the same thing that you've done to yours. You cannot simply "convert" to R-134a by just putting a new refrigerant and oil into your system. You likely have black death and will need a new compressor. You will also need to run solvent through your lines, condenser and evaporator. Replacing the receiver/drier is also mandatory.

that completely sucks! I don't have the time or materials for that DYI... I was hope'ing to just have to drain the sys and swap my compressor but that black death sounds like something that will screw your stuff up... I decided to do the retro in the first place because i thought that with no leaks found in the first place and R12 being a ich to find it would be okay. when its filled it works like a charm though and when I look at the Receiver I just see the freon bubbling and such in the tiny window (or whatever that is next to the washer fluid) and it makes good 40 degrees at the vents but its looking expensive at this rate

and let me guess not many shops can *correctly convert* our cars these day's?

They can but you won't like their price.
