    Malfunction:|p/s| Help On Issue

    *Back HISTORY*

I've had a sever power steering leak for a while. Recently while doing 40kmh my engine rapidly dropped RPM and turned it self off. I managed to turn the car back on. In the parking lot my power steering pump belt was on fire I cut it off.

    The pump is frozen.

Could the pump be repairable and do you think it is the source of the leak?

Where are common areas to check power steering leakage?

Any suggestions on powersteering dye to use?

if the pump seized then there is no going back. Just get another one at the junkyard and either rebuild the seals...or install it as is.

Why use dye? To find leaks, clean the areas where it may be leaking and look around. Or just power wash the motor and start looking.
What makes me laugh about forums, is that no matter how much you try to help someone, they dont take the advice. Go ahead and do it the hard way.

You got to respect what you drive, and appreciate what you have, making the best of what you got. and if that means putting CAI, HID's, a phat stereo system, and a idiot in the drivers seat...then so be it!
