Stripping down the 92 LX 4dr?..........

This weekend i will be stripping down the front end of my 92 LX. The motor is a f22a, with only 130,000 miles on it, and automatic. I need to find out what i can still use and what is trash. I will be parting some of the stuff out, that you guys might want. I WILL be buying another 92, but 2dr and 5-speed.

    Questions

    1. If the NEWer 92 has high miles, WOULD i want to swap motors? The motor is a f22a, with only 130,000 miles on it, and AUTOMATIC.

    2. Is it that HARD to transfer this motor to MANUAL.

So what i want to know is, have any of you swapped motors and switched the motor from auto to manual. all in one swap. Leave the 2dr 5-speed, but swap motors with the wrecked.

    Comments and Suggestions Please.

only thing looks ok is the grill....cant believe it survived...lol

The hardest, most precision work of a 5 speed swap IMO is rewelding the transmission mount to the body...

screw that up and you'll be going thru axles like nobody's business... and that grinding noise is just a bonus...so get someone semi intelligent/experienced to weld it on...

everything else is just swapping parts and working out little compatibilty issues...

dont worry about how many miles the engine has...i have way over 200,000 and its till pulling strong. so as long as you maintain it well, it'll last you a life time.

Im looking for the cheapest way possible to do this.
Should i just rebuilt the front end of this 4dr and possibly swap to 5-speed. or go buy another. and use this for spare parts?

first of all he is asking if the motor in the automatic would work on his new manual car. lmao read guys.

ok man. the motors are the same. just that the auto tranny uses torque convertor the manual tranny uses clutch and fly wheel. but the motors are the same. do a compresion test before u swap engines. then u decide who has better numbers
are we there yet are we there yet are we there yet

Ok, so i should have no worrys with mounting the 5-speed to my other motor. Since they are the same motor.(f22a) Besides the tranny mount.

I hope to find one that i dont have to do much work to. Because TIME is a big factor right now. Im working 2 jobs and going to school. Id really like to just part out this car, to make a lil side money. But well so what happens?
